The Lonely Pumpkin
Written
by Anna Paty
He lived on a farm in the country. One day he went out to his field and planted some pumpkin seeds. One of the seeds blew away. The seed blew all the way to the woods. It landed in the soft dirt below. It started to grow. It grew and grew. Until finally it was as big as a bush! But the pumpkin grew lonely. He begin to cry. Then along came a monkey. "Wait!" said the pumpkin. "Can you play with me?" he said. "Well certainly not!" cried the monkey. "why not?" said the pumpkin. "Well because I am a monkey and you are a pumpkin." "Well that doesn't make sense." said the pumpkin. But it was too late the monkey already had left for home. The pumpkin was lonely again. Then a turkey came but he said the same thing. Then a chicken came. The chicken said "but I love pumpkin pie." And the pumpkin said "no I don't want to be pumpkin pie!" He was lonely again. It was getting dark so the pumpkin went to bed. The next morning he found himself in a man's arms. He looked up. It was a farmer. Then he looked up ahead. He saw a farm. Then before he new it he was in some soft straw. He looked around he saw lots of other pumpkins. There were bumpy ones, there were smooth ones, there were green ones, there were orange ones. Then he saw a sign that said: The pumpkin patch come and get a pumpkin! The pumpkin was so excited! because then a boy or girl would bring him home. So then he wouldn't be lonely. He waited and waited for the time that children would come and pick him for their jack-or-lantern. Then the time came he waited then a little girl came in through the gates. She walked right past him And picked up the bumpy one. Then a little boy came in he walked right past the pumpkin and picked up the Green one. Then before the pumpkin new it, it was the end of the time that children would come and pick a pumpkin for their jack-or-lantern. Then the farmer came out he walked right up to the pumpkin and picked him up. Then before he new it he was in the cozy little farm house. Then the farmer put the pumpkin on a table. And then the pumpkin saw a carving knife right by him. He grew so excited because that meant that he would be finely carved into a jack-or-lantern. Then the farmer came up to him and grabbed his knife and started carving. Then when the farmer was finely finished he put a candle in the pumpkin and lit the candle then he tuned the pumpkin around and there stood the finest shining and looking pumpkin any one ever saw.

The Animal Rescue Center
Krista walked down main street to the animal center.
She worked there with three other girls and two boys. The first girl was named Janeta.
The second girl was named Molly. And the last girl was named Lura. Then the first boy was named Mikel. The second boy was named John. Then Krista finely reached the animal center. She walked in. Then Janeta ran to her and said "oh Krista there's a animal in trouble we have to help it!" "OK" said Krista. So they got the others and started off. They went down main street. Across rose rode. Then at the end of rose rode they saw a cat stuck up in a tree. John said "Mikel go get a rope" so Mikel went and got the rope. Then when he was back John said "give it to me"
so Mikel gave the rope to John. Then John tied a hoop in the rope. And then he swung it up and put it over the cat. Then when he got the cat down they all said " the first rescue done!" and then John said " you can live with us at the animal rescue center!"
